Our story
Why we started Master Recruiter
Master Recruiter was founded with a straightforward observation: the traditional recruitment agency model — charge 20–30% per placement, juggle dozens of clients, move on — wasn’t working well for anyone except the agency.
Organisations were paying huge fees for hires that didn’t always stick. Recruiters were burning out trying to work too many clients at once. And the best talent was often missed because no one had the time to really look.
We started with a different question: what if a recruiter worked exclusively for one client at a time, at a fair daily rate, with the right tools and support behind them?
The answer was the embedded recruitment model — and it’s become the core of what we do. But we also know it’s not right for every situation. So we offer the full range of recruitment models, from classic agency to fixed-price to RPO, and we advise clients honestly on which one actually fits their needs.
We’re based in Edinburgh, part of the Belmont Lavan Group, and we work with organisations across the UK, Europe, Canada and the USA.

We won’t push you into a model that doesn’t fit. If classic agency is right for your situation, we’ll say so — even if another model would earn us more.

No two clients hire the same way. We offer eight recruitment models precisely because one size doesn’t fit all — and we’ll adapt to how you work, not the other way round.

We’d rather present three strong candidates than ten average ones. Shortlists that waste your time reflect poorly on everyone — including us.

Transparency on cost
You should always know what you’re paying and why. Whether it’s a daily rate, a fixed fee, or a placement percentage — we make it clear from the start.

Our recruiters are professionals, not cogs. We pay fairly, support them properly, and build engagements that let them do their best work — which benefits clients directly.
